Tourism Carrying Capacity Study for the Municipality of Zacharo, Regional Unit of Ilia, Region of Western Greece

IDGC undertook and successfully completed the Tourism Carrying Capacity Study for the Municipality of Zacharo, with the aim of shaping a new model of sustainable tourism development for the area. Using modern methodologies and reliable data, our team recorded and analyzed the municipality’s current situation from infrastructure and natural resources to tourism demand and environmental pressures.

The study resulted in targeted recommendations for improving key sectors such as cleanliness, water supply, traffic management, and tourism governance. It also includes a communication and rebranding strategy, repositioning the Municipality of Zacharo as a destination of authentic experiences, high quality, and harmony with the natural environment.

Through this study, IDGC demonstrates its commitment to sustainable development and innovative project design that creates tangible value for local communities.
