Bio:
Looking back at my life, my happiest days were probably the unboxing of my Commodore 64 and later, Amiga! Despite this obvious affinity to all things with chips inside, I tried to brush things aside and to go the "normal" way. So I dropped machine language programming and other nerdy hobbies to study International Relations in France and the USA. Being horribly bored with International Relations, I decided "things with chips in them" were not that bad after all and I got a job in the e-commerce department of a large Turkish bank. Following the half decade it took me to understand corporate life was perhaps not a good fit, I landed in one of the first Turkish game development studios and had a fantastic time till my Cypriot wife decided we had to make the jump from Istanbul to Kyrenia.Big changes don't usually come alone and a little later, my first Turkish startup, GittiGidiyor.com was sold to eBay. This started the second period of my life where I ran the Turkish Cypriot franchise of a large Turkish food delivery service, started and failed Markapon.com in Turkey (Groupon clone), invested in zet.com / sopsy.com (Turkish Etsy) and driveyoyo.com (car sharing). These were soon followed by Gram Games (mobile gaming), Safrema Energy (renewable energies) and a few others I cannot name yet. Being an angel investor is my preferred job so far as I get to help talented people realise their dream and constantly work on new and exciting projects. In the time left from my family and entrepreneurship, I read a great deal about future technologies, especially Artificial Intelligence and Medical Tech. I am also an avid but ageing gamer and an amateur musician.
