The Founder Institute in Athens

The Founder Institute, the world’s largest startup accelerator with over 1,000 graduate companies, is announcing that it is exploring a new chapter launch in Athens.

 If you are curious about what it is like to run a successful startup, then join us for Startup Founder 101, a free event that take place on February 12th at 10.30-13.00 at InfoCom Mobiles & Apps Conference at the Divani Caravel Hotel. Listen to what Founder Institute could do for you.

Based in Silicon Valley and with chapters across 55 cities and 34 countries, the Founder Institute has helped aspiring technology entrepreneurs launch over 1,017 companies, which have created over 10,000 new jobs.

As part of the launch event, we will offer a crash course with Mr. Yiannis Kanellopoulos, (LinkedIn: gr.linkedin.com/in/ykanellopoulos), on “IT Strategy for your Startup”. Real-life examples will be shared.

Founders Bootcamp

An accelerator program designed to expose Greek technology startups in the Turkish market provided by Industry Disruptors-Game Changers.

ID-GC started the first Greek-Turkish cooperation on Startup entrepreneurship through the development of “Disrupt Startup ScaleUp Founders Bootcamp”, an accelerator program, jointly held with with the tech accelerator in Istanbul Fit Startup Factory and the support of Özyeğin University, one of the best business universities in Turkey.

During the first stage of the Bootcamp, 10 teams were selected to attend a two-day intensive workshop in Athens, aimed to train startups on business model generation, customer development, lean startup, metrics and pitching to investors.

On the second stage, 3 startup finalists (Captainwise.com, Sponsorboat & Poseadon) were selected from the 10 startups and are invited to Fit Startup Factory in Istanbul.  They will participate in the acceleration and mentorship program; while at the same gain access to market and capital through predetermined appointments.

Finally, one startup will be invited to Startup Turkey, which will be held in Antalya to present their business plan to a large number of Turkish and international investors. Stay tuned to find out who will that be!

ID-GC in Brussels

BrusselsID-GC along with 7 start-ups (Poseadon, Holic, Mageca, Glossopolis, Oinovation, TomoTECH and Respi) travelled to Brussels on an invitation of Ms. Sylvana Rapti, Greek MEP, to meet with European Commission Officials and Policy Officials. We met with Neelie Kroes, VP of the European Commission, and discussed about the future of the Greek startup ecosystem.

Mrs.Kroes discussed with the startups about the problems they face and stressed the need for a robust framework, which would make fundraising available and increase knowledge exchange.

DISRUPT Startup ScaleUP

One of the 5 top featured events out of 20,000 events during Global Entrepreneurship Week

With the message “Disrupt Greece”, the event DISRUPT Startup ScaleUP, organized by Industry Disruptors – Game Changers (ID-GC), was held on November 23 & 24 at Megaro International Conference Centre. ID-GC would like to thank all participants for attending the event with the hope that you got inspired and benefited from the shared knowledge through 17 international speakers, 5 live competitions and 23 workshops.  The event attracted more than 2000 attendees and over 1 million livestreaming hits raising key issues for the development of youth entrepreneurship, extroversion and the ecosystem in Greece. Amongst the 50 startups that participated in 5 live competitions, 14 winners were awarded total prizes of 465.000€. We would like to congratulate all winners, as well as, thank all the startup teams for their participation.

Disrupt Startup ScaleUp Founders Bootcamp: ID-GC is in Turkey!

Designed to promote entrepreneurship and extroversion in the wider region, ID-GC announces the first Greek-Turkish cooperation on Startup entrepreneurship through the development of “Disrupt Startup ScaleUp Founders Bootcamp”, an accelerator program, jointly held with Fit Startup Factory as of November 2013.

Disrupt Startup ScaleUp Founders Bootcamp is an accelerator program addressing – in this first phase – startups from Greece and Cyprus. The program has been designed in collaboration with the tech accelerator in Istanbul Fit Startup Factory and the support of Özyeğin University, one of the best business universities in Turkey.

The teams will participate in the acceleration and mentorship program in order to be trained in business model generation, customer development, lean startup, metrics and pitching to investors.  Eligible teams will be will be invited to Fit Startup Factory in Istanbul, and get the chance to access an extensive network of likely partners and significant investors through predetermined appointments. One startup will be invited to Startup Turkey, which will be held in Antalya, to present their business plan to a large number of Turkish and international investors. Online applications are open until January 10th, 2014.
